Photo requests can be made to the ITMZ's photographers by all employees of the University of Rostock, with the exception of employees of the Faculty of Medicine. Students cannot make photo requests, but in special cases they can request a photo via their departmental supervisor.

To use the ITMZ's photography media service, you must submit a request. The request can be made using the appropriate order form or by emailing fotoservice@uni-rostock.de. Further information can be found in the terms and conditions.

The photography media service is free of charge; images are delivered by email.

No, passport photos and/or application photos are a private matter. We take portrait photos of university members for their press and public relations work. The university connection must be clearly recognizable.

The client will receive the edited and usable photos by email or, if applicable, via a download link.

Images are subject to image and copyright law. It is at the photographer's discretion to provide original files. The ITMZ's Media Service Photography does not issue raw files. You will receive an edited file. Please feel free to discuss any requests regarding file format, color space, format specifications, etc. with us.

When using photos, you must always observe image rights, such as copyright and personal rights.

Photos from the ITMZ Media Service Photography may only be used for university purposes and must be accompanied by the copyright notice © ITMZ | University of Rostock. Editing of the work is not permitted. When using photos depicting clearly recognizable persons, you need the consent of the persons depicted.

The main working hours of the ITMZ's Media Service Photography must be observed. These are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Orders outside of working hours and/or the place of work must be coordinated with us in good time. Weekend orders are generally not accepted. This requires long-term planning and the approval of the staff council.

Please inform your event participants in advance and in a clearly visible manner about the photo shoots by the ITMZ's Media Service Photography. You can use the note in the order form for events for this purpose.

Depending on your requirements and the number of people involved, these can be taken in our photo studio or on location. It is best to make an appointment by phone.

We respect the right to one's own image; each person can consent to or revoke the use of their image at any time. The photo consent form is the basis for having portraits and group photos taken by ITMZ photographers. It is attached to the order form for portraits and groups. We also take photographs of objects for your public relations, teaching, and research purposes. Depending on the size and type of object, the photographs can be taken in our studio or at the repro stand.

If you would like photographs of rooms or objects that cannot be transported, a photo appointment must be arranged at a time when the rooms/objects are accessible and have been cleaned beforehand if necessary. The safety of photographers and equipment must always be guaranteed.

We have uploaded a selection of our images to the easydb image database: Bilddatenbank easydb. The software is available to several institutions at the University of Rostock. You can find our photos in the pool “University of Rostock > free images of the University of Rostock” or select only “IT- und Medienzentrum” as the creator. Here you will find, for example, photos of buildings, teaching and research, images of the university management and the campus. All members of the University of Rostock can use these photos for their public relations work, provided they observe copyright and personal rights.

University members can quickly and easily access a selection of our images in the easydb database, which they can use freely for their academic work. First, you must log in with your user ID and password.

The software is available to several institutions at the University of Rostock. If you only want to view image material from the Media Service Photography, select the pool “University of Rostock > free images from the University of Rostock” in the left-hand column under the menu item Resources; then, in the System Fields menu, select only “IT and Media Center” as the creator and deselect everything else.

You can then narrow down the results further by entering simple search terms (e.g., lecture, biology, laptop...) in the search bar and using additional filters in the menu, e.g., System Fields > Images > Type. Here you can select the desired image format: portrait, landscape, or slider format for the UR websites.

To use our printable photos from the easydb image database Bilddatenbank easydb, you must first log in with your user ID and password. Then select the pool “University of Rostock > free images from the University of Rostock” and/or the creator “IT and Media Center” only. Click on the desired image (a blue frame will appear). Select the download button in the search bar on the right or right-click on the selected image to display the download option. Various file sizes are available for download.
